ADM Tigers

The returning senior letter winner for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers girls golf team wants to improve the camaraderie amongst the squad this spring. Emily Neumann is one of ADM’s only golfers with experience coming back this spring and has assumed a leadership role for the Tigers. Neumann and junior Morgan Wagoner spoke with Raccoon Valley Radio Monday afternoon during practice at the Minburn Indoor Practice facility, discussing some topics ahead of this weekend’s season opener. When asked about goals for the upcoming season, Neumann pointed to team chemistry as an area she wants the team to improve on. “Last year we didn’t a lot of team bonding (activities),” Neumann said, “ADM girl’s golf team use to win conference (titles) every year, and the team use to be very close. So we are trying to get back to that.”

Neumann says her ideas so far include team dinners outside the golf course, a bonfire, and a movie night. Joining Neumann and Wagoner on this year’s ADM girls golf team include senior Alyssa Pingle, junior Grace McElvain, and freshmen Liv Rickert and Anna West. The Tiger girls golf team opens their season this Saturday in an 18 hole tournament at the Warrior Run Golf Course in Norwalk. ADM will compete against golfers from Bondurant-Farrar, Carlisle, Dallas Center-Grimes, Des Moines East, Grinnell, and Norwalk. Tee time is set for 8:30 a.m.
