The Perry Police Department recently released new information regarding the arrest of 28-year-old Eric Chandler Parmenter of Ankeny, formerly of Perry.
Parmenter was arrested last week on four counts of 3rd degree sexual abuse, a class C felony. Perry Police Chief Eric Vaughn said the charges stem from four separate incidents that occurred between 2008 and 2010, and involved non consensual sex acts with a female under the age of 18. The victim reported the abuse in June of 2017, at which time the police department launched an investigation.
On March 10th of this year, the investigation concluded, and a warrant was issued for Parmenter’s arrest on March 12th. He was arrested and booked into the Dallas County Jail on March 16th, but has since been released from custody after his $10,000 bond was posted. Parmenter will have his preliminary hearing on Tuesday, March 27th at 11 a.m.
