The Dewey Field Improvement project for the Perry School District got a big boost to its fundraising goals Friday morning.
Raccoon Valley Bank presented the school with a check for $25,000 to go toward phase one of the $3.2 million project to renovate the athletic complex. The school will continue seeking additional funding sources to cover the cost of phase one, which is around $1.1 million. Phase one includes a new entryway, concession stand, northside bleacher expansion, and two-story press box. The project was kick-started last year thanks to a $350,000 matching funds donation from the family of the late Pete VanKirk.
