If the weather cooperates, the outdoor track & field season at Greene County High School begins on Monday. The Rams are scheduled to host their annual Early Bird Coed Meet in Jefferson at Linduska Field at 4:30 p.m. Boys’ head coach Chad Morton talks about something new this year. “We have an individual event award. Anyone who wins an individual event, regardless of what that event is, will receive a t-shirt that says Greene County Invitational with a design on the front and the word Champion on the back. Hopefully, the kids will enjoy that and bring good recognition to our school and our track meet.”
The Early Bird has no team score and entries are generally unlimited. In addition to the Rams, teams include Paton-Churdan, Manson-Northwest Webster, North Polk (Alleman), Ogden, South Hamilton, Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center (girls only), Gilbert (girls only), and Ft. Dodge St. Edmond (boys only).
