West Central Valley Wildcat

The accolades continue to pour in for 2015 West Central Valley graduate Bailee Arnburg, this time for her work in the classroom. Arnburg recently completed her junior season for the Grand View University Women’s Basketball team and was named a Heart of America Athletic Conference honorable mention performer. The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced this week that Arnburg is one of 143 Division I women’s basketball student-athletes named to the 2017-18 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete Team. To be nominated as an NAIA-Scholar Athlete by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status.

Arnburg closed her 2017-18 campaign as the Lady Vikings second leading scorer with 352 points, starting all 34 games this season as a guard. She topped Grand View with 99 assists. Grand View finished their women’s basketball season with a 23-11 overall record, falling in the opening round of the NAIA National Tournament to top-seeded Shawnee State (Ohio), 88-82 on March 15.
