The Greene County Activities Booster Club hosted a first-ever Spring Sports Pep Rally late Thursday afternoon in the middle school gym in Jefferson. There are around 140 Spring sports participants on the high school level and all were introduced to a good size crowd.

Carol Behne is the head coach of the first year boys’ soccer program and Marilyn Tasler is head coach of the girls’ soccer program, also in its first year. Chad Morton is in his first year as boys’ head track & field coach and Derek Merk is in his first year as head coach of the girls’ track & field program. Dave Destival returns as the boys’ golf coach and Heath Telleen is back coaching girls’ golf.

March 26 is the first outdoor spring sports event on the Greene County calendar. The Rams will host their Early Bird Coed track & field meet, weather permitting. April 2 is the opener for girls and boys golf. The boys’ host Carroll at the Jefferson Community Golf Course while the girls play at Carroll.

The soccer teams play their first-ever matches on April 2 in Grand Junction vs. Humboldt. The girls play at 4:30 p.m. with the boys to follow and both matches will be broadcast on KG98.
