Local historian Rod Stanley will give a presentation at the Panora Public Library next week. Stanley will present on items found in a 1930s steamer trunk on Tuesday at 2pm. The trunk was donated to the Forest Park Museum in Perry in the early 2,000s. Dallas County Conservation Director Pete Malmberg tells Raccoon Valley Radio it belonged to Florence Linn from Atlantic. The trunk contains several objects she would have carried with her during train rides.

Stanley last presented on Iowa’s interurban railroads last fall. He was also recently appointed to the Guthrie County Historical Village Foundation Board. Contact the library for more information.
