The three indoor track & field meets the Greene County High School track & field girls and boys took part in are in the rear view mirror. The Rams completed their third and final indoor meet on Saturday in Storm Lake at Buena Vista University.
Boys’ head coach Chad Morton talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about those meets. “We treat indoor meets like a practice. To be able to run inside is better than the weather we’ve had outside. And, we get the kids to compete is always good because we try to compete in practice. I think that after the indoor season it gives me an idea of where kids land right now in the track year. It gives me an idea of where I can fill some relays, and fill some open events, to see what we can do at our first (outdoor) meet.”
The Rams are scheduled to hold their Early Bird Meet on Monday, March 26 at Linduska Field. The long range forecast for that day calls for a small chance of a couple light rain showers with high temperatures in the low to mid 50’s.
