A large group of incoming freshmen are vying for spots on this year’s Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers girls track team. Bart Mueller is entering his sixth season leading ADM’s girls track program, and he tells Raccoon Valley Radio that 31 total girls have signed up for track and field competition this spring. When it comes down to class breakdown, the freshmen have the most numbers with 11 girls out. “I didn’t anticipate that big of a number, but that’s nice,” Mueller said, “They all have really good experience and continue to stick with the program, then our numbers will continue to grow.

Mueller adds depth is big for any track and field program as there are 19 events which schools can compete in. The first time high school students join a squad with five seniors, seven juniors, and eight sophomores. The outdoor season for the ADM girls track team begins next Monday as the Tigers will compete in the Earlham Early Bird Invitational.
