There are a couple youth programs coming up with the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department.
The Rowdy Rodeo Wranglers will take place this Saturday from 9 to 10am at the Greene County Community Center. It is for kids ages three to six-years-old. Cost to participate is $15. JPRD Director Vicky Lautner describes the popular event.
“This year we’re using stick ponies that are inflated. So that way it’s a little bit safer when the kids get to riding their horses don’t kick somebody. We’ll participate in modified rodeo events such as barrel racing and calf roping.”
There will also be a soccer sign up day next Saturday, March 17th. It is for those in U10, U12 and U15 leagues. It will give participants the opportunity to meet the coaches, discuss practices, rules of the game and other information. Cost to participate in any of the leagues is $55, which includes a jersey. The sign up event will take place from 10am to noon at the community center.
Call 386-3412 or stop by the community center for more information.
