As plans continue to get underway for the overnight stop in Jefferson for the Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI), more volunteers are needed.

Executive Co-Chair Toni Wetrich says there are about 50 people serving on several committees, but they especially need people for the campground and food vendor committees.

“With those two committees, you don’t ever have to camp in your life, you don’t have to like camping or be a food vendor. We really need organized people who can kind of look at the town, work with the structure of organizing where those campgrounds are going to be, where those vendors are going to be, and we can get those committees started. Really appreciate anybody who’s organized and can work with a group of people.”

Wetrich points out that there is an all-day workshop in Des Moines on March 8th with all of the overnight towns on this year’s RAGBRAI route. If you are interested in volunteering to help with the campground, food vendor or any other committee, contact Wetrich at 712-790-6063.
