West Central Valley football coach Eric Addy is embarking on a new coaching challenge this spring, leading the Wildcat boys track team for the first time. Addy was a guest on Monday’s Karl Chevrolet of Stuart Guthrie County PM Sports Page and told Raccoon Valley Radio he’s averaging between 20-25 kids during the first week of organized practice last week.
Addy says if you want to become a faster, more flexible athlete, there are few sports that develop it quite like track does. “From a football perspective, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like their football team to be faster,” Addy said, “They talk all the time about how power pushes, but speed kills, so that’s where we are trying to get to.”
The West Central Valley boys track team opens their season Monday, March 26 in the Earlham Early Bird Invitational.
