The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Wednesday morning in regular session.
The meeting was held on a different day than normal because two Supervisors were unavailable during the regularly scheduled time on Tuesday. The first item on the agenda was a storage request by the Dallas County Genealogical Society. They currently house their records in the Dallas Center Library, but they’ve been asked to move out, and felt having their materials in Adel would be better. Society members requested space in the County archives, and Recorder Chad Airhart was amenable to the request. However, the Board wanted more time to discuss the logistics of the proposal, so they tabled it to a later meeting.
Next, the Supervisors approved a 28E agreement previously discussed between the County and the City of Adel for the east annex sewer extension project. The Board also approved resolutions, including: an amendment to the City of Waukee’s urban renewal plan; the plans and setting the bid letting date of March 29th for the Maffitt Lake Road pavement project; and wetland credit purchase requests for the City of Urbandale and the Iowa Department of Transportation. Finally, the Supervisors approved an increase to the County’s ambulance fees, per the recommendation of Emergency Medical Services Director Mike Thomason.
The meeting concluded with an informational workshop with the Human Resources Department.
