A new literacy program will help parents and guardians of young children improve their reading skills.
Greene County Extension is offering the “Raising School Ready Readers” program at the Extension office. It is a five-week program held on Thursday nights in March from 5:30 to 7:30pm. Extension Director Lori Mannel explains more about the program.
“This is a program for three to four-year-olds, with a parent or a guardian that want to come and learn more about the importance of early childhood literacy. This program focuses on how to incorporate learning into things that you do everyday.”
The program is free, due to sponsorships from the Shopko Foundation and the Extension office. Light refreshments will be served. To register, call 386-2138 or stop by the Extension office.
