Road conditions for the Raccoon Valley Radio area are improving.
The Iowa Department of Transportation is reporting normal winter-weather driving conditions for Greene and Dallas counties, and most of Guthrie County. Only a small percentage of state roads along highways 25 and 44 are partially ice-covered. Local roadways are also improving from the overnight freezing drizzle and sleet conditions that caused slick road conditions Tuesday morning. Motorists are encouraged to give plenty of room for plow crews to apply material to the roadways and clear any remaining ice from the roads.
The National Weather Service is predicting the next round of snow to happen Thursday evening for our primary coverage area.
Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team provides road condition updates, as well as cancellation and postponement information during the winter season.
