U.S. Congressman David Young is looking for some assistance this summer in his Des Moines and Washington D.C. offices. Summer applications are now available for political internships. These internships are unpaid and are designed for college students.

Young references his own story as an example of how internships can be beneficial to career advancement. “In my earlier years in life I did some internships as well. It’s a great way to learn, to develop relationships, to develop skills, and really partake in a representative’s office. I find it very rewarding. Many times, a lot of these interns, we’ve hired them. They seem to find themselves some jobs later on when they do this.”
