This year’s Tower of Fame Award nominations are still being accepted ahead of the Bell Tower Festival in Jefferson.
The award honors someone who lived in Greene County and whose personal or professional accomplishments internationally, nationally or statewide bring pride to Greene County. The winner will be recognized during the opening ceremonies of this year’s Bell Tower Festival. Since the award started in 1981, there have been 52 recipients. Selection Committee Chair Carole Custer says the original committee wanted to have examples who Greene County youth can look to for achievements, and how that impacted them either in their adult life or over their lifetime.
Previous and new nominations are being considered for this year’s award. Nomination forms are available at the Greene County Chamber and Tourism office. Nominations must be submitted by February 28th to the Chamber.
