At last week’s meeting of the Dallas County Supervisors, they held two public hearings regarding rezoning of property.
The first was for property in Spring Valley Township near Perry. The Wright family owns the property and were wanting to extend a residential district to include an additional three acres. The property is currently zoned agricultural, and the Wrights wanted to rezone it to residential so they can add more housing.
The second hearing related to a property in Adel Township near River Valley Golf Course. The Olson family runs the development in the area, which includes the Penoach Winery, the housing development, and the golf course. They were wanting to convert 10 acres of farmland to additional housing, requiring them to rezone the area from agricultural to planned unit development. They will also return to the Supervisors at a later date to get approval for the plat.
No one spoke against either of the rezoning requests, and the Dallas County Planning and Zoning Committee supported both, so the Supervisors approved both resolutions.
