12:35am: Hy Vee reported a vehicle in their parking lot at 106 West Washington Street, that was running a period of time with no one around it. The officer attempted to contact the registered owner, but was unable to do so. The officer secured the vehicle after shutting it off. The keys were brought to the LEC. At about 0402 hrs, George Byerly reported his vehicle missing from 202 West Adams Street. He was purchasing the vehicle from the registered owner the officer was attempting to contact. The officer released the vehicle to Byerly. The officer will be working with Hy Vee to view video to continue the investigation.

8:27am: Bunker’s Dunkers reported a bike in the alley for several days at 119 North Chestnut Street.

9:51am: Sara West reported footprints in the snow all around the property at 504 North Cedar Street. Nothing was missing from the area. The officer is investigating.

10:38am: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 401 South Wilson Ave. All doors and windows were secure at the property.

11:00am: Desi Johns reported a lost/stolen wallet to an officer at the LEC. Johns called back a few minutes later and advised the purse had been located.

2:42pm: A caller advised of a vehicle in the ditch on 220th Street, near the Casino entrance. The officer arrived and the vehicle was gone.

3:00pm: Russell Scott advised an officer of a Secret Shopper Scam he had been involved in. He had been set a check and was instructed to deposit the check and keep a small amount for himself. He was to send the rest to two others by Wal-Mart transfer cards, which he did. Scott was advised a few days later by his bank the check did not clear and was a fraud.

5:00pm: An officer responded to 777 Wild Rose Lane to check on a 911 Hang Up Call from the location. The officer learned that the call was an employee error.

7:10pm: An officer assisted a motorist with vehicle trouble at 308 West McKinley Street.

11:35pm: A Traffic Stop at Lincoln Way and Elm Street resulted in Kurt Schoon of Scranton being cited for, “Fail to Obey Stop Sign.”
