A graduate of Adel-Desoto-Minburn Community Schools is attracting preseason accolades for her work on the softball diamond. Molly Jacobsen, a 2016 ADM alum, is entering her sophomore season with the Des Moines Area Community College Bears softball squad. Fastpitch News, a publication dedicated to covering women’s fastpitch softball, has named Jacobsen to its 2018 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Preseason All-American First Team.

A 2017 Fastpitch News NJCAA Division II All-American First Team last spring, Jacobsen compiled a 25-4 record and a 1.08 earned run average, ending the season second nationally in earned run average, second in strikeouts with 273, and third in wins. Her efforts helped the DMACC softball team to a 47-9 record last season. Jacobsen and the DMACC Bears open the 2018 season February 16 and 17 in the Cowtown Classic in Fort Worth, Texas.
