The deadline to submit a grant application for the Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation is fast approaching.
The non-profit gaming license holder for Wild Rose Casino and Resorts in Jefferson will accept grant applications until February 15th. GGCGC President Norm Fandel says they will handle any projects that are $35,000 and above, while the Greene County Community Foundation will take any project requests of less than $35,000. Fandel points out that while the Greene County Community Foundation requires a match, GGCGC technically does not.
“In our applications, we just indicate that we’re not going to fund 100-percent. Again we value what the application is, what the target for that will be, and then we kind of look at where are the abilities of raising funds for that project. We understand there’s a few projects that have the inability to raise funds, but it’s a good project and something that the county needs. We really take that into consideration when we are looking at how much of that would we fund.”
