The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session.
The Board devoted a fair amount of time to discussion of the lease on the facility located at 918 Court Street in Adel. The building currently houses the driver’s license station and Department of Motor Vehicles. The owner of the building offered three different lease length options: a two-year lease with a one-year option; a three-year lease with a two-year option; and a five-year lease with a two-year option. The Supervisors wanted more time to consider the various options, so the item was tabled until next week.
At 9:45 a.m., the Board held a public hearing regarding a minor plat of Sargent’s First Addition, which is comprised of two 10-acre residential lots near Van Meter. No one spoke against the resolution, so the Supervisors approved the plat. Other items approved at the meeting included a change order for work on the new law enforcement center from McAninch Corporation, and Board appointments to the Board of Adjustment. The meeting concluded with a closed session to discuss pending litigation, followed by a budget workshop with the Public Health Department.
