The Sierra Community Theatre in Jefferson is getting ready for one of their largest fundraisers of the year.
Classics Movie Week features free showings of “classic” movies, thanks to several businesses and organizations sponsoring the annual event. The theme for Classics Movie Week this year is “Share the Love.” The movies include: “Bridge on the River Kwai,” “The Sound of Music,” “Charlotte’s Web,” “Cool Hand Luke,” and “Love Story.” It will start on Wednesday, February 7th with “Bridge on the River Kwai,” and end on February 15th with “Love Story.”
Patrons can give a free-will donation, with all proceeds to go towards remodeling the upstairs restrooms of the theater. Manager Dustin Gustoff is thankful for all the support the theater receives from their annual fundraiser.
“Without the generous donations and sponsorships from Classics Week, we wouldn’t have been able to add a new (popcorn) popper. We wouldn’t even probably be talking about a bathroom remodel because it takes a lot of money to do any kind of construction these days.”
