The 2018 Iowa Caucuses are almost here, so the Democratic and Republican parties of Dallas County remind potential participants of where their sites are.

The caucuses will be held this Monday, with registration and check-in starting at 5:45 p.m. For democrats, there are two locations for our Dallas County listening area: for Perry 1, 2, or 3, Spring Valley/Dallas, and Lincoln/Washington/Linn, the caucus location is the Perry Public Library; for Adams, Adel 1 or 2, Colfax/Adel, DeSoto, Sugar Grove/Dallas Center, and Union, the location is Grace Lutheran Church in Adel.

For republicans, there are several locations: for Perry 1, 2, or 3, and Spring Valley/Dallas, the caucus location is the McCreary Community Building; for Adel 1 or 2, and Colfax/Adel, the location is Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School; Adams will report to Crossroads Church in Earlham; DeSoto will meet in the Council Room at DeSoto City Hall; for Lincoln/Washington/Linn, the location is the Washington Township School; Sugar Grove/Dallas Center will convene at Memorial Hall in Dallas Center; and the Union precinct will report to the Dexter Roundhouse.

You must be a registered member of your chosen party in order to take part in the caucus. Each precinct will elect members to their party’s central committee, as well as delegates and junior delegates for the county convention. There will also be discussion and voting on the parties’ platform planks.
