Past Iowa Lions Club District Governor Dean Porter recently received the “Builder Key” award for successful membership recruitment. Porter achieved the honor by recruiting ten members over his membership with the Lions. This is one of seventeen keys a Lions Club member can receive.

Members earn their first key by sponsoring two new members. The highest honor in this particular area is the “Ambassador Key,” which is given to a Lions member who recruits 150 members to join the organization. Porter has been a member of the Guthrie Center Lions Club since 1996 and has held various positions within the club and Iowa Lions.
