Dallas Co Supervisors 1-9

The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session.

The meeting started with the Board awarding certificates of appreciation to nine county employees for their years of service, ranging from 5-20 years. Following that, they continued a public hearing about the vacation of 338th Court near the Waukee annex, a discussion that began more than a month ago. The Supervisors finally had all loose ends tied up on the issue, and felt comfortable approving the resolution to vacate a portion of the road. Next, they approved a resolution to cancel nine outstanding checks, most of which were less than $100, but there was one uncashed check for $1,930.

At 9:30 a.m. there was a public hearing to discuss the final plat of Blue Chair Meadows, which included four 3-acre lots east of Adel. No one spoke against the resolution, so it was approved. Finally, the Supervisors approved the purchase of two Diamond Mowers for the Secondary Roads Department. The Board was hesitant about the $68,256 price tag for the pair, but their fears were somewhat alleviated by the reports of their longevity, compared to the department’s current models.

The meeting concluded with a closed session to discuss pending litigation.
