The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.

During open forum, the Board continued their discussion about possibly implementing Tax Increment Financing (TIF) funds. Following discussions with Dorsey and Whitney, as well as Ahlers and Cooney law firms, the Board is looking to make a final decision whether or not to implement TIF at their February 8th meeting.

The Board also agreed to approve a resolution and a letter of support, at a future meeting, for a grant application with Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation (GGCGC) for a $98,000 elevator replacement project in the Mahanay Memorial Carillon Tower. The Bell Tower Community Foundation, as well as the County, will provide matching $25,000 in funds and will request $48,000 from GGCGC.

The Board then approved the County Sheriff’s quarterly report of fees for October through December of 2017 for $45,757, the County Substance Abuse semi-annual report and the 2017 calendar year wages for publication were also approved. Additionally, the Board heard 2019 fiscal year budget proposals from the County Attorney’s office, Auditor’s office and elections, Entity Board, law enforcement center, human services and clerk of court. No action was taken on any of the proposals.
