Relay for Life of Guthrie County sponsors several events to raise awareness for cancer research, and support for survivors and their loved ones. The organization recently revealed plans for their cornerstone event, the annual relay in June.

This year’s event will be held at the Guthrie County Fairgrounds and Event Center. Full details are still being organized at this time, however the event will include a meal from 5-7pm with opening ceremonies beginning at 6. Senior Community Manager Kim Durst talks about some of the other activities planned for the relay. “Obviously our pie auction, cakewalk, (and) family activities. Then we’re going to be having a concert following in the grandstand there.”

The event is tentatively scheduled for Friday, June 15th.
