Anyone who hasn’t been to the Greene County Community Center before, or those who are not members, can try out all the amenities this weekend for free.

Jefferson Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner says everything inside the community center is available free of charge tomorrow and Sunday. People can use the fitness equipment, use the gym for basketball, the racquetball court, the climbing wall, indoor walking track, plus other equipment for free this weekend. Lautner talks about a drawing that will also take place this weekend.

“While they are there, they can sign up for a free (one-year) membership. We will be drawing names on Monday. It’s for a free individual membership, but it can be applied to a family membership, or a couple membership, however the person receiving the prize would like to do.”

Lautner points out that they also just finished their food donation drive Wednesday. They collected about 100 non-perishable food items, which will be donated to the Greene County Action Resource Center.
