Greene County has considerably more wrestlers out for the sports than in recent years. One of those coming back to wrestling this season is junior Clint Dennhardt at 182 lbs. He went 6-2 before suffering a hamstring injury in an early December match. He talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the road back after the injury. “I started practicing right before we got out of school (for the holidays) halfway through the week. I’m going full speed now and it feels pretty good.”

On being at 182 lbs., Dennhardt added, “I didn’t have to cut too much to get there, so it’s good for me and it fits around the team well.” He mentioned what the biggest challenge or surprise has been about being out for the sport again. “It’s hard to get back into shape. Some guys have been out all throughout high school, so they know more than me. That’s the biggest thing I’ve noticed, is wrestling shape.”

Dennhardt and the Rams resume the 2018 portion of the schedule on Friday, Jan. 5. It’s a rare Friday night tournament for the Rams as they go to North Polk High School in Alleman.
