The library offers a variety of programs, activities, and services for community members. These include: free WiFi, general Iowa Workforce Development assistance, public movie showings, a summer reading program, and family history assistance. However Library Director Charlsie Dougherty says another service has fueled the rise in patrons. “I think more television series available for checkout has been a really big thing. Right now we have all the ‘Game of Thrones’ which have been on reserve constantly. I think just up-to-date materials like that have been a big implement.”

Dougherty also sees the library as a central focus in the city’s comeback. “We’ve (Casey) been moving in the right direction and the Casey Public Library is a vital part of that. People are recognizing that we have great services, and great materials ,and they come in and want to interact with all of that.”

The library is hoping to partner with the Adair Boys and Girls Club and other local organizations for next year’s summer reading program.
