Christmas is in a couple of days and several offices and businesses will be closed in Jefferson to observe the holiday.

Jefferson City Hall will be closed on Monday for Christmas. Due to the holiday, all garbage routes will be delayed by one day. Monday’s routes will be collected on Tuesday. Tuesday garbage will be picked up on Wednesday. Wednesday’s routes will be pushed to Thursday and Thursday’s garbage will be collected on Friday. Garbage routes will then go back to normal schedules the following week.

The Greene County Courthouse, Greene County Extension office, Greene County Chamber, Greene County Community Center, Jefferson Public Library and the Jefferson Post Office will all be closed on Christmas Day. Additionally, the library is closed today and the community center will only be open from noon to 3pm tomorrow. Library staff reminds everyone that nothing is due to the library when it is closed for a holiday.
