The Perry boys basketball team showed tremendous resiliency last Friday night in defeating ADM to earn their first conference win. Perry was playing shorthanded for the first time this season without their two quickest players. Reese Dunlap is out of the season with a torn ACL while senior spark plug Brandon Kenyon left the team following last Tuesday’s loss to Norwalk. Dunlap underwent successful knee surgery last week. Seniors Rashon Ivory, Drew Levan and Connor Nielsen have each stepped up and played good basketball over the past week and a half. Ivory has hit at least 20 points in 2 of his last 3 games while Nielsen is coming off strong back to back games in all phases of the game. Levan, who scored 22 points earlier this year against Carroll, continues to be a steady presence as the shooting guard.
Perry will travel to Winterset tonight for a 7:30 matchup against the first place Huskies. Shawn Kenney will have the play by play on KDLS and raccoonvalleyradio.com.
