Polk City Police Department aided in the apprehension of Stilson at a residence in Polk City at 12:30pm. Cretsinger was apprehended in Waukee by the Waukee Police Department at 1:45pm.
Both men each face charges of a Class C Felony for intimidation with a dangerous weapon, aggravated misdemeanors for first degree harassment, reckless use of a firearm and third degree criminal mischief and a simple misdemeanor for disorderly conduct.
Authorities responded to the call of several gunshots around 9:30pm Sunday in the 100 block of South Pinet Street. Investigators learned that a female received a ride from Coon Rapids to Jefferson from two males. The female was being dropped off at 507 West Lincoln Way. A verbal argument ensued between the two men and subjects from a group of people. The male passenger in the vehicle then pointed a firearm at two of the subjects in the group. A male from the group then punched and broke out the passenger side window of the vehicle.
The male who pointed the firearm shot five rounds into the air. The vehicle fled southbound on South Walnut Street. As the vehicle was approaching the intersection of South Pinet and Harrison streets, the male suspect fired five additional rounds back toward the group. No one was hit by the rounds, but a parked vehicle in the area had both drivers’ side tires flattened.
Officers then attempted to locate the suspect’s vehicle and interviewed witnesses. Officers removed ten spent 9-mm rounds and other evidence from the crime scene. Investigators also found out from the Coon Rapids Police Department that there was a report of a stolen 9-mm handgun in Coon Rapids, shortly before the incident in Jefferson occured.
The suspect’s vehicle was also obtained in a search warrant Monday and is being processed by officers. Both suspects are being held in the Greene County Jail, each under a $10,000 bond.
