The Greene County varsity basketball teams originally were to face Saydel in Des Monies tomorrow night in a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference girl/boy doubleheader, but those games have been moved back to Thursday, Dec. 7. That means the Rams play on back-to-back nights because PCM (Monroe) visits the middle school gym in Jefferson on Friday night for a girl/boy doubleheader. Both nights of action can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
The Rams hosted Gilbert last Friday in the first conference twin bill of the season and the Tigers and Rams split the games. Gilbert won 50-34 in the girls’ contest while the Rams won the boys’ game, 65-60. Greene County fell to 2-1 in girls’ play with the Tigers improving to 3-1. On the boys’ side, the game vs. Gilbert was the first of the season for Coach Chris Nelson’s team. Gilbert fell to 0-2.
