There are a couple of fundraisers going on now at Greene County Medical Center.
There are only a couple days left for the Auxiliary “Holiday of Lights” silent auction fundraiser. A public open house is scheduled for tomorrow from 5 to 7pm in the main lobby, where the over 50 items will be on display and available to bid on. Bidding ends this Wednesday at 3pm. Plus, items will be available in the hospital’s Gift Garden at a discounted price.
Another giving opportunity is through the Greene County Medical Center Foundation. They are sponsoring the Tree of Life fundraiser. Anyone can purchase an ornament for $25 in memory of a loved one. The ornaments will be on display in the main entrance of the lobby through December 13th. At 4pm on December 14th there will be a special remembrance service in the hospital’s cafeteria. Foundation Director and Auxiliary Liaison Hollie Roberts says all fundraising activities will go to support this year’s capital campaign to purchase a 3D Mammography machine.
“We want to include as many people in it as we possibly can. It’s for everyone’s benefit. If people stay here to have their health care taken care of, they’re not going someplace else to buy groceries or do other things. Our goal is to make sure that we are serving the needs of our community and our county.”
Anyone who wants to make a monetary donation toward the fundraising campaign can contact Roberts at the medical center.
