Several Greenfield organizations are kicking off December with their “Christmas From the Heart” event. The event is scheduled for this Saturday at the Warren Cultural Center. There are several activities scheduled throughout the day.
From 10am-4pm Greenfield Business Women will conduct their annual Chocolate Affair Extraordinaire. This portion of the day gives holiday shoppers a chance to purchase homemade chocolate and goodies for $10 a pound. All proceeds from this portion of the event will go towards their student scholarship program. Simultaneously the tour of trees decorated by local artists and businesses will be on display. The cost is $5 to view the nearly 30 trees, with proceeds going towards cardiac rehab equipment at Adair County Memorial Hospital.
Kids in Kindergarten-5th grade will also have an opportunity to purchase gifts for their parents at the Kids Christmas Boutique at the Masonic Lodge. All items are $0.25 and the boutique will be open from 4-6pm tomorrow and 9am-Noon on Saturday. Greenfield Chamber Main Street and Development Executive Director Stacie Hull thinks talks about the convenience of this event for parents and children. “It’s something maybe you (parents) can drop your kids off and let them shop a little bit while you go buy chocolate. Then you’ll have a surprise gift waiting for you on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.”
The evening ends with a Christmas concert at 7pm featuring the Melody Makers. Tickets are $10 at the door. For more information, including silent auction details, listen to today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County program.
