Panorama and rival Des Moines Christian split a boys/girls doubleheader in Panora last night. The Panthers girls started the night off with a 58-20 drumming of a quality Des Moines Christian side. Defensively, the Panthers seemed in sync and firing on all cylinders. Offensively, The Panthers treated fans to a heavy dose of Bailey Beckman and Devyn Kemble. The two guards combined to score 50 of the Panthers 58 points. Beckman led all scorers with 31 Points. After the game, Coach Dan Druivenga seemed satisfied with his team’s performance.
On the boy’s side of things, Des Moines Christian took control early and never gave it back. Rolling to a decisive 59-38 win to begin their season. They defensively stifled the Panthers, except Luke South and Jacob Merschman who scored 14 and 11 points respectively. Des Moines Christian sophomore Seth Juhl led all scorers with 18 points.
The Panthers girls basketball team moves to 2-1 on the year, while the boys start out with a 0-1 overall record. The teams return to the floor Friday hosting the West Central Valley Wildcats.
