The Salvation Army is once again contributing throughout the holiday season with their Bell Ringing Campaign.
Pastor Terry Mogensen says bell ringers will be at the Jefferson Fareway and Hy-Vee from 4 to 8pm Fridays and 9am to 5pm Saturdays through December 23rd. Additionally, there will be red counter kettles in other locations through the County.
Mogensen asks for the public to help donate, because 90-percent of the funds raised in Greene County stay in the County to help assist residents with support for utilities, rent, food, gas and a number of other services. Last year, Greene County received over $6,000, which helped with 54 situations. This year’s goal is $8,000.
In addition, Mogensen is also asking for volunteers to help be bell ringers. If interested, contact Mogensen with Christ Lutheran Church in Jefferson at 712-830-3297.
