Dallas Co Supervisors 10-17

Keeping the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office vehicle fleet up-to-date is seemingly a never-ending battle, but it’s a battle the Board of Supervisors is willing to fund.

At their recent meeting, the Supervisors considered a resolution for a vehicle purchase request. The request was to trade in a current 2014 Dodge Charger patrol vehicle, and purchase a 2018 Charger to replace it. The old vehicle had well over 100,000 miles on it, which Sheriff Chad Leonard says is usually the threshold they observe for when it’s time to replace a vehicle. After the trade-in, the cost for the new patrol vehicle is $18,364, which will be paid as a standard budgeted item for the Sheriff’s Office.

The Board approved the vehicle purchase request.
