Greene County High School senior Megan Durbin announced she’ll be attending Iowa State University next August and will be a member of the women’s track & field squad. Through her first three years of high jumping in high school she has won a Class 3A State title, been second twice in 3A, and has been both a Drake Relays Champion and Drake Relays runner-up.
Durbin told Raccoon Valley Radio why she choose the Cyclones. “I visited all the other schools and Iowa State is really the only place that felt like home. I knew that I would probably be more successful in the Big 10, or it would be a lot more competitive, but my heart was just saying ‘Iowa State!'”
She still has a season of high school track & field left with the Rams. She has a chance to be among the most decorated ever on the Drake and State levels to wear the uniform of the Rams. Durbin is also an all-conference volleyball and softball player, but will concentrate on high jumping at ISU.
