Later this month, the Boys and Girls Club of Central-Southwest Iowa will celebrate their 15th anniversary. Over that time the club has positively impacted the lives of hundreds of children in Adair County and the surrounding region. This month the club will host three fundraisers to enable that tradition to continue.
The first is the Third Annual Fall Bash tonight at the Casey Event Center from 6pm-midnight. The event features a free will dinner with a game of family feud to follow. Registration is $75 per team to participate.
Next Saturday, November 11th, the club will host a slow pitch softball tournament starting at 8 am. Teams range from eight to ten players and must have at least three women on the field at all times. Registration is $100 per team. This will feature a bracket style tournament with a unique pitch count and gift cards and bragging rights for the winners. Finally, the club will be hosting Colors and Cocktails Sunday, November 19th at the Adair Dance Academy Studio from 1-4 pm. The painting class is $35 and all snacks and supplies will be provided. As of Thursday morning there are four spots left and registration is due to the club by Monday.
Director Lynn Hansen credits the community for all their support in running successful fundraisers. “We are absolutely blessed and humbled by how the community supports boys and girls club. I go to a lot of regional, national area trainings, all the other executives are extremely baffled that we are able to stand in a town of 700 people and still be able to operate.”
