Last Saturday, musicians from Perry High School headed to Atlantic in hopes of being selected for the All-State Music Festival, and for the third straight year, Breanna Penenger was chosen.

Penenger, a senior soprano, was auditioning for the final time of her high school career, and for the first time she was selected for All-State outright. The previous two years she went through the recall procedure, where she needed to audition a second time. Perry Vocal Music Director Jenn Nelson is very proud of Penenger, and says to be a three-time All-State selection is quite rare and a huge honor. The All-State Music Festival will be held November 16-18 at Iowa State University.

Penenger also auditioned last Monday for the ISU Honor Choir, though she won’t know until late November or early December if she will be accepted to that for the second year in a row.
