The seniors on this year’s Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers football team (1-7 overall) nearly came away with a victory in the final home game of their high school careers. The Tigers welcomed the Creston Panthers (2-6 overall) to Tiger Stadium Friday for a battle of winless district opponents. The teams combined for 904 yards of total offense and 87 points scored as Creston outlasted ADM, 44-43.

Multiple seniors stepped up for ADM in their home finale. Quarterback Matthew West accounted for 420 yards of total offense (277 passing) and six touchdowns (three passing, three rushing). Ethan Meyer, Cole Knoll, and Gage Fuller all caught one touchdown passes from West. Brandon Thompson was second on the team in total tackles with 7.5. Junior Nick Bradshaw came up with a team-best 20 solo tackles and six tackles for loss.

Creston outscored ADM 38-15 in the second half after trailing at halftime 28-6. Backup quarterback Eli Loudon completed 12 of 15 passes in the second half for 134 yards and two touchdowns. Tailback Michael Swank rushed for a game-high 212 yards and two touchdowns in the victory.

The loss drops the Tigers record to 1-7 overall. ADM closes the 2017 football season in Glenwood next Friday.
