Today at 11 am, the Guthrie County Veterans Memorial will be officially dedicated.
The ceremony will begin with the National Anthem and the Pledge of Allegiance. After the invocation from Reverend Gary Freeland, there will be a formal presentation of the memorial. Veteran Mike Arganbright will be the featured guest speaker and each military branch will be honored. The ceremony will conclude with a benediction by Freeland and the playing of “Taps.”
The memorial took five years to complete and is located on the southwest corner of the Guthrie County Courthouse. The memorial includes the American flag, emblems of each military branch, and a statue of a male and female soldier. In case of rain, the ceremony will be moved to the Guthrie Center Legion on Main Street.
