The ACGC volleyball team completed two of their final three matches of the regular season last night, recording a split at a home triangular featuring Madrid and Coon Rapids-Bayard. The Lady Chargers swept Madrid 25-22, 25-17, 25-15 but lost to CRB 16-21 and 12-21.
The Lady Chargers got in some good practice against a Lady Tiger team they may face in the second round of regionals later this month. ACGC earned a bye in the Class 2A Region Three Tournament and will face the winner of Madrid and Panorama in the second round. The Lady Chargers haven’t dropped a set against either squad, having already beaten the Lady Panthers twice this season.
While things are shaping up for a regional semi-final against St. Albert, head coach Lyndsey Noe is keeping her team focused on better passing and creating more offense. Noe also credits her two senior captains for keeping this team together throughout the season.
The Lady Chargers finish the season tomorrow at home against Exira-EHK.
