IMG_1431The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday. Tom Rutledge was absent.

The Board awarded and approved two bridge replacement projects to Gus Construction from Adair. The two projects will begin immediately. County Engineer Josh Sebern then informed the Board his department recently purchased a new sign truck for road projects. The original sign truck was outdated and damaged in a minor ditch accident.

The Board then discussed a complaint regarding the ability to enter the courthouse through the west doors. An individual requested the west doors be unlocked to accommodate her disability. Sheriff Marty Arganbright, along with the Board, agreed that keeping the west doors locked would be the best option for overall safety at the courthouse. However, Arganbright and the rest of the Sheriff’s Office is willing to assist those who would benefit from entering through that side of the building. “We don’t want to go backwards. We want to keep working forward to keep it as safe here as we can. We will assist anybody that needs help.”

Then the Board approved funding for Transfer Station Manager Joyce Miller to line large recycling bins at the station with plastic, with each lining costing around $1,000. The Board concluded the meeting by approving server upgrades with Panora Telco Solutions for just under $18,000. The upgrades do not require additional funds at this time, however a budget amendment will be required going forward.
