The Perry Community School District will lose nearly $65,000 due to the federal sequestration.
According to figures supplied by Superintendent Lynn Ubben, the Title 1 department – also known as elementary reading and math specialists will take the hardest hit with an almost $42,000 cut. Migrant will lose more than $5,000, Title II Part A will see an almost $5,000 cut and Title III – which is for English language learners will see a cut of around $1,100.
Other money lost will come from the special education part B in the amount of $9,300, the vocation program for more than $1,500 and Title VI at almost $1,000.
The school board is expected to discuss these loses at their next meeting on Monday.
