Dallas County Conservation was recently announced as one of 12 recipients of Matching Assets to Community Health (MATCH) grants from the Wellmark Foundation.
The $90,000 matching funds grant was awarded for the “Let’s Connect” project to unite the Raccoon River Valley Trail and the High Trestle Trail. Organizations statewide were able to request up to $100,000 in grant funding, under the stipulation they match the funds dollar-for-dollar. The projects chosen are all designed to help people achieve better health through safe and healthy environments and encourage physical activity.
Including the $90,000 for Dallas County Conservation, there was over $1 million in total grant funds awarded by the Wellmark Foundation this cycle.
