They say a dog is a man’s best friend. This week, the Stuart Library has been Panora Protecting Even the Strays’ (PETS’) best friend. The week will wrap up a photo contest and fundraiser for the animal shelter tomorrow.

Patrons can submit their favorite dog photos on the library’s Facebook page to be eligible for voting. Voting will happen tomorrow with loose change and all proceeds will go to the shelter.

The fundraiser came as a challenge to a local from Library Director Lisa Sherman to create a display for the library. The animal display near the front of the library was the answer to that challenge, which prompted the fundraiser.
